Life of teenagers from socially vulnerable families easier with "Get Ready for the Future"

Caritas Serbia and the company OMV Serbia continued their cooperation on the Project for the Integration of Teenagers from Socially Vulnerable Families "Get Ready for the Future", which they have been implementing together since 2016. The goal of the project is to help young people overcome the challenges of independent living and doing business, without compromising their education. During October, contracts were signed with two young men. One of them got the opportunity to work part-time (20 hours a week) at the OMV filling station in Jagodina, while the other will have the opportunity to gain work experience at the OMV filling station in Subotica.

The contracts were signed in the presence of representatives of OMV Serbia, Caritas Serbia and Caritas Aleksinac, as well as Caritas Subotica. During the project, the pedagogical mentor from Caritas, as well as the supervisors at the filling stations, will monitor the work and progress of the candidates and help them, with the completion of schooling, integrate professionally and socially into society and prepare for independent living.

So far, eight teenagers from Belgrade, Novi Sad, Aleksinac and other places in Serbia have gone through the project. The project is designed in accordance with the corporate social responsibility policy of OMV Serbia and the corporate culture of the company, which encourages providing equal opportunities to all and rewarding young people who show potential, willingness to learn and progress.
