Narcis Popescu new General Manager of OMV Serbia

  • Narcis Popescu announced to be new General Manager as of August 1, 2018
  • He started working in OMV Petrom in 2005, among others, he managed Supply & Logistics for the eastern region, including Serbia
  • Bozidar Rajic continues his professional career for personal reasons outside the company

Since August 1, 2018, as the General manager of OMV Serbia, Narcis Popescu is replacing former General Manager Bozidar Rajic, who decided to continue his professional career outside of the company for personal reasons.

Narcis Popescu comes from the Romanian branch of OMV Petrom and will be in charge of the strategic directions and development of OMV business in Serbia being also functional lead for the related Product Supply & Logistics activities.

From 2001 to 2003, Narcis Popescu studied in the US at State University of New York in Binghamton, where he obtained the degree of MBA. He joined OMV Petrom in 2005 as Management Consultant, actively taking part in the turnaround of the Marketing Division. Popescu is well aware of the operations of the Serbian branch of OMV, since he was appointed as the Head of Supply & Logistics sector for Region East since 2011, where he managed operations in Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia and Moldova.

From 2012 to 2015, he was a member of the Board of Directors at OMV Petrom Marketing, and in 2014 he became the Head of Sales East, responsible for the managing of Bulk, OilCo and Marine businesses in Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia and Moldova.

Former General Manager Bozidar Rajic, was the head of OMV Serbia since December 1, 2013, previously performing several responsible functions within the company, which he joined in 2002. With his great knowledge of OMV business and the Serbian fuel retail market, Rajic contributed to the development of OMV Serbia network and improvement of the company's results in the Serbian market. His contribution to the oil industry is also reflected in the work of the Association of Oil Companies of Serbia (UNKS) as the Chairman of the Steering Committee since 2012.
